Verandah balustrade & roofing

The verandah is looking like it has always been a part of the house now! Someone who was walking past recently asked if we were pulling down the verandah, and I had to explain that it was a brand new verandah on an old house. A good sign, I think!

Roofing

Most of the roofing sheets are now in place. It really has added so much new dimension. 

Custom verandah balustrade

Dad has designed a signature balustrade and built/installed the first panel. The top rail piece on each panel is the traditional 'ladies waist' style. I love the design - classic, and a little bit 'Hamptons' with a criss-cross (for good measure!) in the centre of each panel. 

Here it is almost ready to install...

The sun is changing as we are moving further into Autumn and this north eastern corner is such a great sunny spot...

Meanwhile, the roses are thriving...

And feeling very happy with my new mirror...
